From convicts to dandies. born in england, within the walls of London prisons at the beginning of the 1800's, this sport, originally called “rackets”, spread to all those who practised it, quickly becoming a favourite pastime in the most elegant and exclusive sports clubs of the city.
Benefits. Squash is a sport which requires tactics, intelligence and intuition, calling for players' quick reflexes. Practised worldwide, the sport adapts perfectly to the needs and pace of a modern lifestyle. In only 40 minutes, in fact, you can obtain results comparable to almost two hours of (regular) training, achieving, furthermore, a reduction of physical and mental tension and a significant elimination of toxines.

You play best out of three games - each of 11 points, without changing balls. For eventual ties at 10, the winner is the first opponent to score two consecutive points. The match begins with the service of one of the two players.
The player who serves must place at least one foot in the serving square and hit the ball over the serving line, directing it towards the quarter field where his opponent awaits to respond. Afterwards, the ball must hit the front wall within the lines that limit it and it cannot bounce more than once: the side walls and the back one can be used as sideboards. If a player obstructs his opponent the point must either be played over (LET) or it is rewarded to the player who was obstructed (STROKE).
